Ducati has launched the BS6 Scrambler 1100 at a starting price of Rs 11.95 lakh. It is the second BS6-compliant motorcycle from the Italian manufacturer in India.

Ducati Scrambler 1100 price

The Ducati Scrambler 1100 BS6 is available in two variants: 1100 Pro and 1100 Sport Pro. Both trims are based on the same platform. Their ex-showroom prices are as follows:-

Ducati Scrambler 1100 BS6
Variants BS6 Price BS4 Price Premium
1100 Pro Rs 11.95 lakh Rs 10.91 lakh Rs 1.04 lakh
1100 Sport Pro Rs 13.74 lakh Rs 11.42 lakh Rs 2.32 lakh

As it is clear from the above table, the upgraded Scrambler 1100 attracts a premium of up to Rs 2.32 lakh over its preceding iteration. So what does all it offers in exchange for this increased price? Well, it receives a BS6 compliant engine and some minor cosmetic tweaks. The fuel tank gets new decals and a restyled seat layout. Ducati has also revised its exhaust system and the tailpipe is now ricked on the right side only.

Difference between both the variants

We have already discussed this in our previous story. The main difference between both variants lies in their riding style. For instance, the Sport Pro variant offers cafe racer-styled lower handlebars with bar-end mirrors and Ohlins suspension. It gets a special matte black paint scheme as well. On the other hand, the Pro model features wide handlebars and Marzocchi fully-adjustable USD fork at the front and a rebound-adjustable Kayaba monoshock at the rear.

Engine

Both the variants of Ducati Scrambler 1100 BS6 are powered by the same 1,079cc air-cooled L-twin engine that offers two different power states 84.7PS/90.5Nm for the 1100 Pro variant and 85.65PS/88Nm for Sport Pro trim. The engine is paired to a 6-speed transmission with a hydraulically actuated slip-and-assist clutch.

Features

Justifying its price, the Scrambler 1100 is loaded with electronic aids such as a fully digital instrument cluster, LED round daytime running lamps, switchable four-level traction control (DTC), cornering Antilock Braking System (ABS), and three riding modes: Active, Journey and City.

Underpinnings

Both the variants of Scrambler 1100 use the same trellis frame. However, the suspension setup is different for both trims about which we have already talked above. As far as the braking is concerned, both the variants get twin 320mm discs with Brembo M4.32 monobloc radially mounted calipers at the front and a 245mm disc with a single caliper at the rear. Another common thing between both the models is their 17-inch alloy wheels and Pirelli MT60 RS tires.

Rivals

The Ducati Scrambler 1100 takes on the like of Triumph Scrambler 1200 and Triumph Street Triple RS.
