Things To Know About Jeep Grand Wagoneer Concept

The Grand Wagoneer from Jeep has to be given the credit to hold a name worth the reputation it creates with what it offers. It is grand in true sense. Jeep in India is already considered a fairly premium brand but it is important to keep in mind the gradient between the Indian or say the European Automobile market. Jeep has very successfully registered itself as a utility brand with tough SUVs but the new Wagoneer is a grand statement by the company among the list of luxurious brands in the sense of global recognition. Let us discuss the major cues associated with the car and where does it stand in the market.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer

It is going to be a massive car

The Grand Wagoneer images that have surfaced showcase the concept thus we can expect the design to be a bit toned down as compared to we are seeing but the changes will be subtle. It won’t be unreasonable to discuss design on the concept basis. The car is a full-size SUV (full size to the truest sense of the market). The car can be related to the Ram Truck which stands at around 5800mm in length.

To help you with a perspective, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer rests on 24-inch wheels with intricate lighting elements and branding. The front is stylized in the Jeep signature vogue with little touches of modernity. The changes to the front grille can be considered an instance, which happens to be the signature seven-slot grille but with a more modernized stand and intakes update with black accents and latticework like the Gladiator and Wrangler.

Heavily loaded Interior

The car comes with a seven-seat layout which makes it stand well beyond the usual Jeep characteristics which tend to focus on the utilitarian scheme of things, but this vehicle has a different orientation, the car speaks for luxury. One thing which is very evident on the basis of the interior is the car’s heavy technological benchmark it sets. A 12.3-inch display takes on the space allotted for the infotainment system below which, sits another 12.1-inch screen to control the infotainment features. Two 10.25 inch displays, one in front of the co-driver and one behind the rear AC vent offer other features like the air-conditioning settings.

As with most Luxury vehicles, you really want to be in the rear seats of this car with two 10.1 inch infotainment screens for each passenger which comes with the latest UConnect 5 technology with all the connectivity features one seeks. The car is known to have a 23-speaker, 24-channel audio system developed by the home audio brand, McIntosh.

Multiple-Engine options on offer

Based on the roots of this vehicle and its relation to the Ram 1500 truck, we could expect the 5.7 L V-8 engine, the hybrid assisted 3.6L V6, and the 3.0L turbo-diesel drive train. The power will be transferred to all the four wheels as standard throughout the variants. The brand has promised to offer three four-wheel-drive systems. The car will have independent front and rear suspensions equipped with Jeep’s Quadralift air-suspension technology. Thus the car will have fairly good off-road performance and will also take care of the minor bumps.

The premium price tag for the flagship offering

The car sets a benchmark for Jeep in the global markets. It serves as the key for the brand to move to the premier segment and shed off the utilitarian image to jump into the luxury market. The car can be very comfortably expected to come at a price tag of over $1,00,000 in the global market and in the Indian market, it won’t be surprising to see this amount touch the Rs 1,00,00,000 mark.

Considering the global market, the car competes with the likes of the Cadillac Escalade, the Lincoln Navigator, and even the premium offerings from conventional luxury brands, for instance, the Mercedes Benz.

2021 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Could make its way to India

Although the Jeep Grand Wagoneer does not really sit at the top of the company’s do as part of its plans in India, It might come after the launch of a seven-seater version of the Compass and the launch of the new Grand Cherokee.

Taking all the delays into the considerations, the Grand Wagoneer concept might make its way in the Indian market in the second half of next year
