Hyundai has teased the next-generation version of the Tucson SUV ahead of its global unveiling which is scheduled for 15 September. This will be the fourth-generation version of Tucson. 2021 Hyundai Tucson: What's New?

The fourth-gen Hyundai Tucson is carrying a futuristic design language. It features Hyundai's new headlamp design termed as 'Parametric Hidden Lights'. Its front grille consists of a jewel-like design that seamlessly integrates the LED DRLs. These daytime running lamps look like the part of the grille and only showed when turned on. Otherwise, you won't be able to differentiate the DRLs from the grille. The headlamps are placed on the bumper.

The new Tucson is based on Hyundai's “Sensuous Sportiness” design language which makes it more sporty and aggressive than ever. The design of alloys wheels and LED bar running between the taillights further complements the overall styling.

Interior

The interior images revealed by the Hyundai do not belong to its production version. However, it gives a fair sense of what all it will get. The interior looks very evolving. It features a vertically oriented waterfall-like center fascia that houses a large touchscreen central display. The instrumentation pod is also having an all-digital unit, while the design of the steering wheel is modernized yet looks similar to the Hyundai Creta.

Will be available in two wheelbase versions

The new Hyundai Tucson will be bigger and wider than the outgoing model. It will be available in both short and long-wheelbase versions, depending on the market needs. The Europian market may get the short wheelbase version while the US and Asian markets will get the LWB version.

Will it launch in India?

Hyundai has recently launched the facelift version of Tuscon in India, hence, we do not expect this to come anytime soon to our shore.

Author's Take

Compared to the current model of Tucson, the new-gen avatar gets a more aggressive styling with the futuristic design elements. Its concept car-styled layout and dual-cockpit design have taken it to the next stage. However, what elements will make their way to the production version, will be answered on September 15, when Hyundai will fully reveal the fourth-gen Tucson.
