MG Motor Posted 41% Growth In August 2020

With the start of the new month, automakers have begun sharing their last month's sales report. In this sequence, MG Motor has achieved year-on-year growth of 41% with sales of 2,851 units in August 2020. It had sold 2,018 units in August 2019.

A 35% increase in retail sales have been registered over 2,105 units sold in July 2020. It is a healthy sign for the auto industry that the market again gaining its pace. 

Currently, MG Motor offers Hector, Hector Plus, and ZS EV SUVs in the Indian market. As per the official press release, the recently launched Hector Plus– 6-seater SUV, is witnessing notable traction from the family segment as people are preferring personal vehicles against public transport. The carmaker has also seen good demand in the EV segment as well. However, the model-wise sales breakup for August 2020 is not available yet.

Official Statement

Commenting on the overall sales performance in August 2020, Rakesh Sidana, Director – Sales, MG Motor India, said-

“We have ramped up the overall production in August compared to July. We are working on fulfilling existing backorders for the HECTOR and prioritizing vehicle deliveries for the ongoing festive season. The recovery in upcountry markets has been faster which should augur well during the festive season.”

In other news, Morris Garages has launched a new contact-free technology suite ‘Shield+’ to improve the customer experience in current pandemic situations. It follows all sanitization methods at its facilities to ensure the protection of its customers and employees. The company has also tied up with Medklinn’s Cerafusion sterilization technology for vehicle cabin sterilization. Apart from this, the brand has also partnered with Zoomcar in order to provide a subscription-based ownership facility to the customers.
