Images Of Hyundai's Carnival Based MPV Leaked

Viral images of a giant Hyundai MPV are doing rounds on the auto forums. Based on the first looks, one can easily assert that these spy shots suggest the concerning car will rival its cousin concern, the Kia Carnival. Through this article, we intend to share all the information about the MPV and what all can be seen coming.

About the ‘Hyundai MPV’

Much like the Carnival, this particular MPV seems to be retaining the central DNA, it will share its platform with the Carnival which means that it will boast of comfort, spacious cabin and premium interior. Being a Hyundai, it will definitely get a comprehensive list of features as well.

Design

Front

The MPV flaunts Hyundai’s newest design philosophy and thanks to bolder design elements, it can simply not be mistaken for a cosmetically tweaked Carnival. First things first, changes are noticeable right from the face with a massive grille in place, decently garnished by chrome inserts, the grille integrates the headlight unit as well.

Side

To point out the specifics on the side profile, the Hyundai MPV gets sharper cuts and creases all over the body and looks massive. The bolder design philosophy is smoothly extended, quite visible from aggressively styled alloy wheels.

Rear

Even at the rear, Hyundai have kept things busier as compared to its Kia cousin. The taillight get a treatment similar to that seen on recently revealed 4th gen-Carnival. Silver skid plate placed on the rear bumper extends the bold design personality of MPV.

Interiors

Inside the cabin, the MPV gets a neatly laid-out cabin, something that Hyundai is known for. While the MPV will borrow the steering wheel from the second-gen Creta, the vertically slotted touchscreen system, is the major highlight.

Seating Options

Based on the same platform as that of the Carnival, the interiors will offer tonnes of space. The MPV can be expected to offer in different seating configurations and as seen on the recently revealed 4th gen Carnival, might offer a seating capacity of up to 11 occupants.

Features

As far as the feature list is concerned, the MPV will be packed upto the brim, with a host of luxury and advanced safety features on offer. The MPV will get features like connected car tech, wireless phone charger, three-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, electronic seat adjustment with memory functions and a lot more important features.

Even on the safety front, it will be well equipped and will feature multiple airbags, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA),  Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), High Beam Assist (HBA), Surround View Monitor (SVM), Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), etc.

Engine Options

The Hyundai MPV in all likelihood will borrow its mechanicals from the 4th-gen Carnival. It eventually means that the MPV will get three engine options – 3.5-litre V6 direct-injection petrol engine (294 PS and 355 Nm), 3.5-litre MPi (multi-point injection) petrol engine (272 PS and 332 Nm) and a 2.2-litre diesel engine (202 PS and 440 Nm).

All these engine options are made available with an 8-speed automatic transmission unit.

Will it come to India?

This Hyundai MPV is expected to be officially revealed by 2021 and might make its way into India by 2022.  When launched it will primarily lock its horns against Kia Carnival. Based on the purpose it is meant to serve, most popular MPV in the country at the moment, Toyota Innova Crysta will definitely not let the Hyundai MPV settle easily.

Price

When launched in India, it can be expected to be priced quite similar to the Carnival and might just retail in the price range of Rs 25 Lakhs to Rs 34 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Author’s Take

We have seen the Carnival inside out, and there is no denying the fact that it is a brilliant offering. The same can be expected with the concerning Hyundai MPV, which by the first looks seem to tick all the boxes just correctly. It will be interesting to see this MPV tussling it out with the Kia Carnival, whenever launched in India

Hyundai has not really offered an MPV in the Indian market, once this car hits Indian dealerships, the Hyundai line-up will come across as more rounded and will definitely cater to the needs of a larger section of buyers.
