Engine Options

Under the skin, the 2020 Honda Jazz BS6 will resume getting a 1.2-liter i-VTEC petrol engine. As of now, the company has not shared its output figures. But the same gasoline mill also powers the Honda Amaze (sub-4m sedan), in which this engine is tuned to produce a maximum power output of 90PS and a peak torque of 110Nm. Power transmission duties will be handled by 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic gearbox. The CVT equipped variants will also get paddle shifters for the more better and enthusiastic driving experience.

The BS6 updated Jazz facelift won't get the option of a 1.5-liter diesel engine, that is available with Amaze and City sedan as well.

Honda hasn't shared any specific date regarding this. But it is expected to be launch within this month only.

Expected Pricing & Rivals

The BS4 Honda Jazz was priced at Rs 7.45 lakh to Rs 9.41 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Jazz Facelift will surely command a premium over its older rate. Its new starting price is expected to be around Rs 7.6 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to rival the Maruti Suzuki Nexa Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Hyundai Elite i20, Tata Altroz, and Volkswagen Polo.

Author's Take

The well known Honda's premium hatch is all set to make a comeback. However, its next-generation model has already debuted in the global market. Sadly, we won't be getting it to our shore anytime soon.

2020 Jazz doesn’t even get any major appreciative change. Practically there is no big difference compared to the previous model apart from the electric sunroof. All-inclusive, the 2020 Honda Jazz isn’t a very different product compared to its predecessor.
