Tata Altroz XT Variant Gets An Auto Climate Control, Price Remain Unchanged

Tata has very discretely rolled out a feature update in the mid-spec variant- XT of their impressive premium hatchback, The Altroz. The exciting tata hatchback gets an automatic climate control in its mid-spec XT trim without any variation in prices.

Now a minor feature update may appear insignificant on a first glance but in a segment that is swarming with products with cut-throat price and specification competition, this seems like a clever and beneficial bet from the Indian carmaker.

Tata Altroz XT: The update

Tata has changed HVAC controls in the XT variant of their supposed ‘gold-standard’ product. The car will now come with automatic climate control. Auto climate control is one of the features that's necessity you will understand only when you start using it. It does not strike across as a deal-breaker but once included in the feature list and in your driving lifestyle, it is something you would not like to miss on.

Now what catches our attention is that for this added feature company hasn't charged any extra cost. In short, the price is unchanged and that's the beauty of it. It completes the Altroz XT variant as a product at its price. It can be termed as the best value for money variant not only in the Altroz lineup but among the competition as well.

What does it offer?

Tata Altroz XT comes with a host of features including a floating touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, dual-chamber halogen headlamps, DRLs, fog lamps with cornering function, automatic climate control, multi-info display, cruise control, 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, electrically adjustable ORVM, cooled glovebox, keyless entry and last but not the least, the engine starts/stop button. The safety features include dual airbags, ABS, EBD, Corner Stability Control (CSC), ISOfix child seat mount, Impact Sensing Door Unlock, and reverse parking sensors with the camera as a bonus.

Now honestly, you can’t ask for more at this price. This is most definitely the strongest contender in the segment and offers amazing value.

What does it miss on?

Being a mid-variant it does miss on some features in comparison to the top-line variant which includes diamond-cut alloy wheels, projector headlamps, height-adjustable driver seat, rear defogger, auto-dimming, rear wash and wipe, armrests, leather wrapping on steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. But quite honestly with what the XT offers now, the XZ and XZ(O) (also very strongly priced), seem to wane off when compared to the mid-spec variant. The price difference between XZ and XT stands at Rs 60,000 whereas this gap further widens to Rs 85000 in case of the XZ(O).

In the premium hatchback space, it competes with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai Elite i20. Soon the BS6 Honda Jazz will also join the race.
