5 Things To Know About The BS6 Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS

Mahindra’s flagship two-wheeler offering Mojo 300 is all set to be launched in its BS6 Avatar. Recently the Indian auto maker has released its teaser image. Since its launch is around the corner, here are the 5 things that we must know about the upcoming Mojo 300 ABS-

BS6 Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS

1. Probably only Mahindra two-wheeler to get BS6 compliant engine

Mahindra two-wheelers were founded about a decade back in 2008. It has never really been able to shine the way Mahindra would have fancied. As things stand now, Mojo happens to be the only Mahindra two-wheeler which has received a BS6 compliant engine.

Aprt from the Mojo, Mahindra two-wheelers have discontinued all its offerings. However, The Gusto is expected to get a electric powetrain soon. Mahindra's commuter has not really excelled on the sales front, Mojo is a promising product and Mahindra has high hopes riding on it.

2. Addition of a new colour scheme

Mahindra two-wheelers recently released the first image of BS6 Mojo ahead of its launch. The official image shows that the bike will get an updated Garnet Black paint scheme, apart from the new Ruby Red colour scheme. Other noticeable changes include swingarms & frame finished in red colours complemented well by pinstriping of the same colour on the wheels.

Apart from the above-mentioned changes, overall design profile of BS6 Mojo is set to be borrowed directly from the BS4 Mojo UT, which includes the signature headlamp cowl, the wide handlebar and large single-piece seat.

3. Retains the same engine

Mojo 300 is expected to get the same 295cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Earlier the Mojo was available in two power tunings: 23PS/25.2Nm and 28PS/30Nm. But this time, it is likely to come up with the higher state only. The engine will be continued to be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Classic Legend Jawa's (Mahindra subsidiary company) Forty-Two bike is also powered by the same 293 cc engine.

4. The same feature list on offer

As mentioned in our previous article about the Mojo, we don’t expect the feature list to receive a major overhaul which means that the stylish tourer will be continued to be offered with the equipment list that was being offered with the BS4 Mojo 300.

The bike will be offered with a very basic feature list and will retain the same semi-digital instrumentation cluster, analogue tachometer, digital display for important information like speed, gear position and trip meter.

Most importantly, Mojo will also be offered with Dual-channel ABS as standard.

5. Will rival the RE sisters and Bajaj Dominar

The RE sisters have been the undisputed champion of the tourer segment for some time but the last few years have observed a significant increase in competition. Mojo 300 happens to be one of the capable contenders potent of giving the RE sisters a run for their money.

This suggests that Mojo will primarily lock horns against Royal Enfield offerings in the same price segment (Classic 350, Himalayan).

Bajaj’s flagship offering, Dominar is another Mojo competitor which also sounds like a much closer Mojo rival as both happen to be stylish modern tourers meant to be taken on long distances.
