The wait is finally over as Maruti Suzuki has taken the wraps off the highly anticipated Jimny five-door SUV. It is essentially an extended version of the three-door SUV, which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. Expect the carmaker to announce its prices by mid-2023. Once launched, it will go up against the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha.

Based on a ladder frame chassis, the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door is powered by the brand’s tried & tested K-series 1.5-litre engine with Idle Start-Stop technology that makes 105PS and 134.2Nm. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The SUV also benefits from the brand’s ALLGRIP PRO 4×4 system that also comes with a low-range transfer case.

The design of the off-roader is similar to its 3-door version, albeit with an extra set of doors, boosting the practicality of the off-roader. Here’s a look at its dimensions: –

  • Cruise control

  • Up to six airbags.

The Jimny will be available in 7 colour options, including 5 monotone shades and 2 dual-tone options.
