  • The Tata Harrier and Safari facelifts achieved a five-star safety rating in both Adult Occupants Protection (AOP) and Child Occupants Protection (COP) assessments.
  • Both SUVs scored 33 points out of 34 for AOP and 45 out of 49 for COP.
  • Based on the same platform, the SUVs offered “good” protection to the driver and passenger’s head and neck. However, the protection offered to their chest was rated as “adequate”. On the contrary, the driver’s and passenger’s knees showed good protection. The protection offered to tibias was adequate for the driver and good for the co-passenger.
  • It is worth noting that the footwell area and the bodyshell were rated stable. The bodyshell was capable to withstand more loads.
  • During the side impact test, the chest, abdomen and pelvis showed good protection.
  • Since Both the 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari get six airbags as standard, they qualified for the side pole impact test and offered good protection to the head and pelvis, marginal protection to the chest, and adequate protection to the abdomen.
  • Both SUVs also get electronic stability control, 3-point belts for all occupants and seat belt reminders for all seats.
  • Speaking of the Child Occupant Protection (COP) test, the 2023 Tata Harrier and Safari received 12 out of 12 points for the Child Restraint System (CRS) installation, 24 out of 24 in the dynamic score, and 9 out of 13 in the vehicle assessment.
  • The Global NCAP tested the SUVs with dummies of an 18-month-old and 3-year-old child, with both seats facing rearward (RWD), placed using the ISOFIX anchors and a support leg. Both prevented head exposure in front crash and offered complete protection during a side impact test.
  • It is worth noting that the new Harrier and Safari also offer an option to deactivate the front passenger airbag to install the rearward-facing CRS in that place.
