Its unofficial bookings are already underway at select Nexa dealerships across the country.

Revealed by the teaser image, the 2022 Maruti Baleno will get a redesigned grille coupled with new LED headlamps that will give it a bold look. It will also be equipped with circular LED fog lamps.

Inside, the facelifted Baleno will come with a layered dashboard like the global-spec S-Cross, where the middle part will get a grey treatment, while the upper and lower sections will be finished in black. It will also get a floating touchscreen infotainment system that looks like an 8-inch unit. It should be equipped with features like wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto and connected car technology.

The other notable features could include a heads-up display, up to 6-airbags, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, a colored multi-info display, a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel with controls for the music system as well as cruise control.

Under the hood, the 2022 Maruti Baleno could be offered with the same 83PS 1.2-litre K12B and 90PS 1.2-litre Dualjet Dual-VVT (with a 12V mild-hybrid system) petrol engines as the ongoing model. However, its CVT automatic transmission option could be replaced with an AMT unit to keep the prices in check.
