2021 Tata Altroz iTurbo: Specifications, Mileage, Features & Variants Explained

Latest Update: Tata Altroz iTurbo hot-hatch has been launched in India at an introductory price range of Rs 7.74 – Rs 8.85 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Click here to know more about it in detail. 

On the first anniversary of the Altroz premium hatchback, Tata Motors has revealed its new turbocharged model called "Altroz iTurbo". It is scheduled to launch on 22nd January 2021, while its official pre-launch bookings have been started for a token amount of Rs 11,000. From today, it will also be available for test drives.

Powered by a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit, the Altroz iTurbo will be available in three variants: XT, XZ, and a newly introduced XZ+ variant. Most of the features will remain the same to the existing variants on offer, however, the iTurbo trims will also get some additional goodies. So, for your convenience, here we have done a detailed variant-wise features classification of the new Altroz iTurbo. But before we dive into the feature’s part, first look at its specifications and other details: –

  • The Altroz iTurbo is powered the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 100PS and 140Nm. This motor is essentially a de-tuned version of the Nexon’s petrol engine. For reference, the Nexon Petrol produces 120PS/170Nm. 
  • Compared to its 1.2-litre naturally aspirated Revotron petrol engine, it delivers 24PS/27Nm more power & torque.
  • At the time of launch, iTurbo will be available with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic is likely to be offered in the near future.
  • The Altroz iTurbo can accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in just 11.9 seconds. 

Tata Altroz iTurbo – Design, Cosmetical Changes & Dimensions

The Altroz iTurbo looks similar to the standard Altroz, save for an 'iTurbo' badging on the boot lid. With iTurbo's debut, Tata has also introduced a new Harbour Blue colour, which will be available in all variants from Altroz XM+ onwards. However, the contrast Black roof option will be exclusive for the Altroz iTurbo XZ and XZ+ trims. Apart from this, all Altroz variants will now boast a new Sporty Black & light Grey dual-tone cabin theme.

As far as the size is concerned, the Altroz iTurbo shares all its dimensions with the standard model.
