Facelifted Tata Tiago NRG Launched At Rs 6.57 Lakh

Tata Motors has re-launched the Tiago NRG in the Indian market, albeit in a facelifted avatar. It is essentially a crossover version of the Tiago hatchback, which was updated last year. It will only be available in a fully-loaded petrol trim that is priced at Rs 6.57 lakh for manual and Rs 7.09 lakh for the AMT variant. At this price point, it is Rs 23,000 more expensive than the standard Tiago's XZ+/XZA+ variant.

2021 Tata Tiago NRG – What's New?

Exterior

Being a facelift version of the Tiago NRG, it has received a host of cosmetical updates over the previous model. That said, it gets sharper-looking headlamps, renewed front grille with a tri-arrow pattern, and redesigned front & rear bumper with faux silver skid plates. It also features newly designed dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels. With all these changes, the NRG is 37mm longer than the standard Tiago and has 11mm more ground clearance than before.

Besides, it continues to get black body cladding all around, thick plastic trim on the tailgate, non-functional roof rails, and blackout finishing on the roof, door handles, C-pillars, and wing mirrors.

Color Options

Tata is offering the 2021 Tiago NRG in four colors: Foresta Green, Snow White, Fire Red, and Cloudy Grey.

Interior & Features

On the inside, the new Tiago NRG misses out on the contrasting orange highlights as the pre-facelift model. Instead, it gets an all-black cabin theme with a red color accent around the side AC vents & gear lever. Additionally, it carries forward the modernized flat-bottom steering wheel, updated fabric seat upholstery, new gear lever, and digital instrument cluster from the ongoing Tiago.

Key features of this cross-hatch include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Harman sound system, manual AC, steering-mounted audio & telephony controls, power-folding outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), height-adjustable driver’s seat, power windows, day-night inside rear-view mirror (IRVM), tilt adjustment function for the steering wheel, rear parcel tray, rear wiper & washer, etc.

Although the facelifted Tiago NRG doesn't get the automatic climate control as the Tiago, it features a push-button start/stop and keyless entry over the standard model.

Passenger's safety, on the other hand, is taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, high-speed alerts, front seatbelt reminder, rear defogger, front seatbelts with pretensioners & force limiters, corner stability control, rear parking sensors with camera.

2021 Tata Tiago NRG – Engine

The 2021 Tiago NRG is powered by the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine (86PS/113Nm) as the standard Tiago, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).

2021 Tata Tiago NRG – Rivals

The Maruti Celerio X is the only primary competitor of the Tata Tiago NRG in the Indian market.
