Indian-Spec Maruti Suzuki Jimny Specifications Leaked, Launch Expected Soon

The most anticipated long wheelbase Suzuki Jimny off-roader is in development and is likely to be launched in India soon. While the global model is a 3-door off-roader, the brand could introduce a 5-door Jimny for our country. The long-wheelbase Jimny was recently spotted in Europe during testing. Now, a leaked document reveals the dimensions and technical specifications of its 5-door version.

The leaked document shows that the five-door Suzuki Jimny will be 3,850mm long, 1,645mm wide, and 1,730mm tall. Its wheelbase will be 2,550mm. Compared to its 3-door model, the 5-door Jimny is 300mm longer with the same height, width, and ground clearance. However, it is smaller than Maruti's most popular Vitara Brezza sub-4m SUV in length and width. But, its ground clearance is 10mm larger than the Vitara Brezza.

The document also reveals that the 5-door Jimny will ride on 15-inch wheels, wrapped in 195/80 section tires. The SUV will weigh 1,190 kilograms that are 100kg more than its 3-door model.

Under the hood, the 5-door Jimny will utilise the 1.5-liter K15B four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 102PS of max power at 6,000rpm and 130Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. It is the same engine that also powers the Ciaz, Vitara Brezza, S-Cross, Ertiga, and XL6. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter automatic. In all likelihood, the Jimny will be offered with both 2WD and 4WD systems.
