Ather’s Family Scooter To Be Called Rizta; Teaser Out

Ather Energy has teased its upcoming family scooter for the Indian market and confirmed that it will be called the Rizta. It is slated to be launched in the coming months, while deliveries could start in July this year.

Introducing Ather Rizta: the electric scooter built for you and your family

Ather Rizta – What To Expect?

While the first teaser reveals the silhouette of the upcoming electric scooter, the earlier spotted testing mule has already disclosed some crucial design details. Unlike the Ather’s ongoing 450 lineup, which features a lean, sporty design, the Rizta will boast a more conventional scooter design with minimal cuts and creases. The scooter will feature a flat floorboard extending to the sides, serving as a pillion footrest. Notably, there will also be a foldable footrest on the left side, providing added convenience, especially for women who prefer to side sideways.

For practicality, the scooter will feature a large, single-piece seat suitable for family use, complemented by a convenient grab handle at the rear. The handlebar will be positioned at a comfortable height, contributing to a harmonious design.

The Rizta is also expected to get alloy wheels with disc brakes, a curvaceous rear-end with a sleek LED tail lamp, and a concealed belt drive system. Additionally, we predict it to offer a non-touchscreen 7-inch LCD display with turn-by-turn navigation support, three riding modes (Smart Eco, Ride, and Sport), an auto turn indicator off, a reverse mode assist, side stand indicator, FallSafe, park assist, Emergency Stop Signal and auto-hold functions.

Technical specifications of the upcoming Ather Rizta are still under wraps. But it is expected to offer at least 90km of real-world riding range.

Expect Ather to price the Rizta from around Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it against the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak.
