To improve the driving and in-cabin experience of the customers and to address the range concerns, Tata Motors has made some significant changes to the EV. These include:-
– Updated Exterior: – The design of the new Nexon EV MAX is largely similar to the outgoing model, save for the newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels and darker shade of the teal blue color that will be limited to the top-spec XZ+ LUX trim.
– Added Features: The interior design of the SUV also remains unchanged. However, it gets tons of new features such as Makrana Beige leatherette upholstery, ventilation function for front seats, in-built air purifier, electrochromic IRVM, smartwatch compatibility, cruise control, tire pressure monitoring system, electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, a wireless smartphone charger, dedicated buttons for Eco & Sport driving modes, multi-level regeneration braking, ESP, hill hold/descent control, all four disc brakes, and new rotary drive selector with digital display and a dedicated PARK mode.
– Bigger Battery, Improved Range: – The most significant update is the bigger 40.5kWh battery pack, replacing the earlier 30kWh unit. With this, the electrified SUV now returns an ARAI-claimed range of 437 kilometers, 125 kilometers more than its predecessor. Besides, the new PMS motor produces 143PS/250Nm, that’s 14PS and 5Nm up from its previous iteration.
– Top Speed: – Tata claims that the new Nexon EV MAX can sprint from 0-100kmph in under 9 seconds before attaining an electronically limited top speed of 140kmph.
– Charging Time: – As for charging capabilities, the upgraded EV can be juiced up to 80 percent in just 56 minutes via a 50kW fast charger, whereas a 7kW AC fast charger will take up to 6.5 hours.
– Tweaked Suspension: With all these changes, the weight of the Nexon EV has gone up by 100 kg. And so, the brand has also retuned its suspension setup to ensure utmost driving pleasure.
