2022 MG Hector Interior Revealed

After updating the Gloster flagship SUV, MG Motors India is now gearing up to launch the new generation Hector, probably around the festive season. The carmaker has recently revealed the revised interior of the mid-size SUV that absolutely looks upmarket and more feature-rich.

MG Motors has updated the dashboard design completely and will now offer it in an all-black scheme, whereas the cabin will have dual-tone Oak White and Black theme. It comes finished in leather and gets ambient lighting running across the dashboard. MG says that it is designed to offer a “cinematic and immersive experience complemented by handcrafted textures, soft-touch tactlike, and versatile ambiance on demand”.

You can also notice the redesigned air-con vents and portrait-styled free-floating 14-inch touchscreen infotainment that feature an in-built control panel for the climate control system. It will also get a multi-function steering wheel (same as the current model), a 7-inch customizable instrument cluster, electronic parking brakes with auto-hold function, and redesigned center console with Tata Nexon-like sliding tambour door for smart storage.

The new MG Hector is also expected to get Astor-like LEVEL-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that comprises various advanced active safety features, such as auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, lane change assist, high-beam assist, etc.

The previous teaser also reveals the updated front facia of the SUV, featuring a massive chrome-studded grille flanked by sleeker LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) on either side.

Expect MG to provide the new Hector with the same 143PS 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol (with an optional 48V mild-hybrid system) and 170PS 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engines as the existing model. However, this time, the carmaker could introduce an automatic transmission for the diesel mill.

Reports are suggesting that MG could retail the 2022 Hector with its ongoing model. Expect it to command a significant price premium over its existing version that currently ranges between Rs 14.15 – 20.11 lakh (ex-showroom).
